FITRADE Smarter Delivery with AI
How allhuman is bringing AI-assisted development to the Fáilte Ireland Trade Portal project
How allhuman is bringing AI-assisted development to the Fáilte Ireland Trade Portal project
We've developed an AI delivery approach built for complex digital projects. We're bringing it to FITRADE in a staged, deliberate way that makes the most of the opportunity while keeping delivery on track.
Each stage only begins when the previous stage is confirmed stable.
The Storybook component library. Self-contained, visually testable, isolated from API integrations.
New STL features scoped and built AI-first. Three things change:
Stories are written to be AI-readable: component-scoped, with explicit ACs and Figma traceability. Better input means better output.
Figma moves from static reference to active specification. The AI builds directly from the design file, compressing the gap between design and build.
Faster turnaround on agreed features with the same quality bar. The AI integration sits entirely within the allhuman FE and PM layers.
| Role | Today | By Stage 3 and 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Project Manager | PM and coordination | PM and product strategy, less manual overhead |
| QA Lead | QA | Critical quality gate — AI-generated test suites |
| Test Automation | Test automation | AI-augmented QA — generates, reviews, maintains |
| FE Developer | FE developer | AI operator — directs, reviews, owns component standards |
| UX/UI Designer | UX/UI design | Design as active specification — Figma feeds AI generation directly |
| Architecture Lead | FE Tech Lead | Architecture governance — sets the quality bar AI-generated code must meet |
Stage gates are enforced: Stage 2 does not begin until Stage 1 test infrastructure is confirmed working.
STL is untouched: Through April, the AI tooling is PM and QA only. Development changes come after launch.
Human review at every stage: AI generates. Humans approve. That does not change.
The MW boundary is respected: No AI integration touches middleware or backend systems.
Architecture governance stays in place: All AI-generated code is reviewed against a defined quality bar before it ships.
FITRADE is positioned to be the first public sector portal in Ireland where AI is a core, documented part of how it gets built. That's a story worth telling.
Stage 1 is live. We'll track, measure and share what it produces. Stage 2 planning begins once STL ships.
Stages 1 and 2 sit within existing allhuman resourcing. As Stage 3 takes shape, we'll look at how we share investment in the QA infrastructure that powers it.
